IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF HERCULES

Average length: 5.000 m
Swimming conditions: moderate waters

In the footsteps of Hercules and under the watchful eye of the Melkart Castle, lies the Playa de Camposoto, accessible from the road with the same name. Between marshes and streams, a sand bar full of beach grass and broom forms the "Punta del Boquerón" natural monument that extends all the way to the mouth of the Sancti Petri Stream. Divided in two sections, the one closest to the road contains numerous beach amenities, elevated beach accesses and parking. The more natural section, known as Playa del Castillo, is only accessible by foot along the beach’s shore or by way of the official trail "Punta del Boquerón.” Abandoned military structures are located in different places along the beach due to the fact that this place was always a strategic point for surveillance and defense.

It is an ideal beach to see natural marshes of a high environmental value.
